MARK DEAN VECA: TWENTY YEARS is a deluxe oversized coffee table book which reveals the evolution of work by the respected multimedia artist—including vibrant paintings and drawings, all-immersive psychedelic exhibition spaces and limited edition pieces. Veca's colorful, dynamic paintings pop off the page in bright red, orange and turquoise hues, with curvaceous lines inspired by the underground comic world. His work incorporates everything from pop culture references like Tony the Tiger and Scrooge McDuck to Americana elements like the Lincoln Memorial to the American Flag; to religious iconography including skulls, Buddhas and Ganeshas—all filtered through his own gaze. Veca recently produced a contemporary mural inspired by 18th century wallpaper for the Davies Gallery in the San Jose Museum of Art's historic wing, and he has exhibited throughout the United States, Europe and Japan at museums and galleries including the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, PS1 Contemporary Art Center, the Brooklyn Museum, the Bronx Museum of the Arts, and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Artforum, Art in America, Art Review, Juxtapoz, and Flash Art.

Shana Nys Dambrot is an art critic, curator and author based in Los Angeles. She is currently LA Editor for WhiteHot Magazine, Contributing Editor for Art Ltd., Art Editor for VS. Magazine, a featured calendar writer and arts blogger at the LA Weekly, a contributing writer for Flaunt Magazine and Bluecanvas, and a journalist at KCET’s transmedia culture program, Artbound. Formerly Managing Editor at Flavorpill.com and Art + Books Editor at LA CANVAS, her other publications have included Modern Painters, Art Review, Artweek, ARTnews, the Believer, tema celeste, Angeleno, Art Asia Pacific, Coagula, and Juxtapoz. Carlo McCormick is is an art critic, author and curator living in New York. He has contributed essays to numerous art books, monographs and exhibition catalogues including Trespass: A History of Uncommissioned Urban Art, Beautiful Losers: Contemporary Art and Street Culture, Pop Surrealism: The Rise of Underground Art, Ed Templeton: The Cemetery of Reason, and Kenny Scharf. Over the past thirty years, McCormick’s articles have appeared in Art in America, ARTnews, Artforum, Juxtapoz, SPIN, Aperture, and many other publications. McCormick is Senior Editor of Paper magazine.
